Senior Electrical (MEP) Engineer in Houston, Texas

Qualified individuals must be able to design and document building electrical and lighting systems for a wide variety of projects in a detailed and comprehensive manner.  Design tasks include preparing construction plans, calculating electrical loads, reviewing codes, specifying, sizing and laying out electrical equipment, performing illumination studies and energy studies, indicating electrical rough-in provisions, writing specifications, reviewing submittals, making jobsite visits, writing reports, and other tasks.  A detailed knowledge of the NEC is required.

Candidates should possess a good working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP /Revit software and computer skills for Excel and Word. The position allows good opportunity for advancement, personal growth and cross-discipline training.  Candidates should have a professional engineer license and have an accredited engineering degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar building systems technical curriculum.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be able to transfer engineering ideas into CAD drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Must be able to perform calculations for electrical projects including load, voltage drop, fault current, arc-flash, illumination, and energy analysis.
  • Must be able to specify, size, and layout electrical equipment and systems.
  • Must be able to prepare detailed and complete deliverables including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of building construction and MEP systems is essential.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex assignments.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player.

Qualified individuals must be able to design and document building HVAC systems for a wide variety of projects in a detailed and comprehensive manner.  Design tasks include preparing construction plans, calculating HVAC loads, reviewing codes, specifying, sizing and laying out HVAC equipment, performing energy studies, indicating HVAC rough-in provisions, writing specifications, reviewing submittals, making jobsite visits, writing reports, and other tasks.  A detailed knowledge of ASHRAE, Energy Codes, Building Codes and Healthcare Standards is required.  Prior experience with mentoring of less-experienced engineers is desired.

Mechanical/Electrical Designer/Engineer

E|B|E has excellent opportunities for HVAC and Electrical Designer/Engineers. The qualified HVAC individuals must be able to design building mechanical systems for a wide variety of projects. Systems will include heating, cooling, DX rooftop, split-systems, chilled water, and other mechanical systems. The qualified Electrical individuals must be able to design building electrical and lighting systems for a wide variety of projects.  Candidates will be preparing construction plans, calculating heating or electrical loads, reviewing codes, specifying, sizing and laying out HVAC and electrical equipment.
